FOMO Syndrome.

Have you ever heard of the FOMO Syndrome? There’s a small chance you actually did. I heard about it recently and decided to search for more information about this totally normal syndrome.

FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) means, just as the name says, that you’re afraid of missing something fun. For example, it’s one of those days where you have decided to relax and watch some Netflix. In the evening you go through your social medias and see that your friends have posted several photos of what they have done today. Without you. A disappointed, maybe even jealous feeling shows up. You wanted to be there, but you missed the fun.

There’s not really a cure, I think, for FOMO but you just need to accept that you can’t always have fun.

We sometimes tell our friends we don’t feel like hanging out, while we scroll through Twitter, Facebook and Instagram seeing pictures which make us jealous. We all are missing out on something, and that is because of social media. It took a part of our lives, and there’s nothing wrong with that. But without it we would be out with friends way more. We wouldn’t miss that much.

I don’t really know why I wanted to share this with you but anyway. I might have FOMO, you might have it. The point is, loads of people have it. And it’s just not possible to always be where the fun is.

If you want to have fun, than make it fun. You don’t always need to be with other, even though that can be a lot of fun.
